How to Clean Canvas Flats

When wearing white sneakers, it is simple to clean them with all the shoe cleaners available. But for canvas shoes, it is a bit difficult as it easily gets very dirty. Here are two ways to clean your white flats to make them look good as new.

Things You’ll Need:

• Toothbrush
• Baking soda
• Toothpaste
• Bowl
• Oxiclean Stain Remover
• Washing machine
• Bowl
• Detergent

Manual Cleaning

1. Create a paste by mixing together a small portion of toothpaste and baking soda together in a bowl.
2. Take a toothbrush you no longer use and dampen it with water.
3. Put the paste on the toothbrush and start scrubbing the dirt off the canvas shoes. Repeat the process for two to three times so there are good results.

Machine Cleaning

4. Lightly spray the canvas shoes with Oxiclean Stain Remover.
5. Put the shoes in the washing machine.
6. Add mild detergent in the washing machine then let it rinse for 20 to 30 minutes.
7. Take shoes out of washing machine and let air dry.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use bleach as the material on the shoes will create a yellow stain that will be hard to get rid of.
