Step 1
Bring lots of things to entertain yourself: music, books, magazines, a DVD player with movies, etc. You know the saying, "Time flies when you're having fun?" Nobody said that you can't have fun while waiting in line or sitting in an airplane. Enjoy your time.

Step 2
Show up early for check in. On top of the stress of traveling, having the added stress of rushing around is stress you just don't need. Since everyone shows up an hour and a half before a flight, that means that there will be a mad rush with everyone trying to check in at the same time. Be a little early and avoid the crush of people.

Step 3
Since you'll be early for check in and (hopefully) have some time to kill before your flight, spend it doing leisurely things. Have a meal at a restaurant in the airport, get your shoes shined, have a chair massage, or get your nails done.

Step 4
Laugh! While everyone may be grumbling around you, keep your own spirits high by making sure that you're having your daily dose of laughter. Bring a funny DVD with you, listen to your favorite comedian on your MP3 player, or read a particularly funny book.
