Making a taco salad for a salad lover could not be any easier than the steps I have below. If you know how to brown ground beef for tacos, then you can make a taco salad. So, what are you waiting for?

Things You'll Need:

  • Ground beef
  • Taco mix
  • Salsa
  • Red or white onion (optional)
  • Lettuce
  • Cheese, shredded
  • Jalepeno's (optional)
  • Tortilla chips
  1. Step 1
    Browned/Reheated Taco Meat

    Brown ground beef, or reheat it, with added taco spices in browning pan. Follow directions on taco spices package for browning. Once ground beef is browned, strain fat and keep on stove at a "warm" temperature.

    Place a layer of shredded lettuce (any type you like) in a bowl.

    Tortilla chips are the next layer. Use any type of tortilla chips you like.

    Begin to shred the amount of cheese you want on your taco salad. You can use any kind of cheese you like.

    Sprinkle the shredded cheese over tortilla chips.

    Add jalapenos and onions on top of the shredded cheese, if desired. This, along with the salsa, will give your taco salad an added kick.

    Add the warm taco meat on top of jalepenos. When the taco meat is placed on top the cheese and jalepenos, the cheese will melt. You are ready to eat and enjoy your homemade taco salad.

Tips & Warnings
  • Taco salads are a full meal in a bowl that will satisfy your and your family's hunger.
  • Taco salad's are best in the summertime, but can be eaten year round too.
  • If you have children, toddlers actually, always cook with a pan or pot on the back burner and away from little hands to touch.
