How to Cook Grandma's Chocolate Pie

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 ounce (1 square) chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pie shell
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Nuts (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Bake pie shell according to package directions.

  2. Step 2

    Melt and cool the chocolate.

  3. Step 3

    Cream the butter, adding gradually to the bowl.

  4. Step 4

    Add sugar, creaming well.

  5. Step 5

    Blend in the chocolate and vanilla.

  6. Step 6

    Add eggs one at a time, beating them for 5 minutes at a time after each addition. You can use an electric mixer on medium speed.

  7. Step 7

    Turn mixture onto a cooled, baked pie shell.

  8. Step 8

    Chill 1 to 2 hours.

  9. Step 9

    Top with whipped cream and nuts if desired.
