If you have stubborn dirt on your DVD or CD, there is a safe way to remove it. Using a mild dish soap with organic compounds can clean your DVD or CD safely and effectively. Just make sure the dish soap is organic and does not contain harsh chemicals.

      Use a soft dry cloth with no lint to clean your DVD or CD. Hold the DVD or CD on the outer rim and use the dry cotton cloth to wipe in straight strokes, going up and down from the center to the edge. DO NOT clean using circular motions as this will damage your DVD or CD.

      Wet the cloth with a small amount of water and mild dish detergent. Wring out the cloth and to clean the DVD or CD using the same straight strokes from center to end.

      Dry the DVD or CD gently with another dry cotton cloth. Again, wipe the DVD or CD from the center to the rim, not going in the circular motion that DVD or CD would play in.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful not to wet the bar code, it might permanently damage your DVD or CD.
