Scrapbook albums come in many shapes, sizes and styles. Mini-albums have become a popular choice through the years for gifts and brag books that you can stick in a purse or bag and carry with you. Accordion scrapbook albums are a simple mini-scrapbook that can be assembled in less than an hour.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrapbook paper (cardstock and patterned paper)
  • Scrapbook embellishments (brads, ribbon, stamps, stickers, eyelets, etc.)
  • Hole punch
  • Scrapbook adhesive
  • Paper trimmer
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Choose your color combination, papers and album size.

  2. Step 2

Cut your cardstock into equal squares to use as your base pages: 3x3, 4x4, 6x6, or another size.

  3. Step 3

Decorate your pages front and back leaving about a ½ to 1-inch space on both sides of your paper so that you can connect the pages together.

  4. Step 4

Once your pages are decorated then you are ready to attach them together. You can do this by punching holes in the side of the paper and tying them together with ribbon or paste another square on the back of the pages and glue your ribbon between the two pieces of paper.

  5. Step 5

The pages should fold together back-to-front and front-to-back like an accordion.

  6. Step 6

Attach your photos if you have not already done so in step 3.

  7. Step 7

Your accordion album should be ready to give as a gift or for your own enjoyment.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also make your album from a long rectangular piece of paper and simply fold the paper to get the same effect.
  • Use small embellishments that are not too bulky so the album will fold together easier and not get indentation from large decorations.
  • Choose a theme for your album so you can show case an event, person or other occasion like Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, etc.
  • Let your children make these basic albums for a gift to their grandparents, teacher or friends. Involve your kids in your hobby.
