The Blood Dance/Crip Walk is actually an amalgamation of quite a few popular dances. Despite it's lurid history the dance has been the basis for many popular hip hop dances. Read on to learn how to do the blood dance/crip walk.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Learn the shuffle or V: Shuffle your feet back and forth so that the toes and the heels come together and form a "V" shape. Alternately, you can move your feet back to front so that your leading foot is heel up, toe down.

  2. Step 2

Do the heel-toe: This is a variation of the running man's foot work in which the leading foot lands toe up and then turns as the body turns 90 degrees. Repeat with the other foot.

  3. Step 3

Learn the snake which is basically the Moonwalk done diagonally. One stays flat on the ground acting as a base as the other foot hovers just above the ground and moves away. As the center of gravity changes the moving foot becomes the base and the other foot is moved towards the leading foot. This one takes a lot of practice to get right.

  4. Step 4

Don't forget the Shine: This is an extra that is done to signify that, despite the dancing you are doing, you still have time to notice things like scuffs on your shoes. The foot is raised even as the other foot continues it's V-shuffle and the hand is brought down in a swiping motion across it. Repeat on the inside part of the foot.
