One of the basics in drumming is the drum roll. It's easy but takes a lot of practice.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drum sticks
  • Drum pad or snare drum
  1. Step 1

Hold your sticks loosely in each hand between your thumb and index finger. The sticks should hover right above the snare and make a V shape with you in the middle.

  2. Step 2

Let your left stick drop and bounce freely.

  3. Step 3

Drop your right stick and let it bounce freely.

  4. Step 4

Alternate left and right faster and faster each time.

  5. Step 5

Practice and the sound will become uniform.
