These easy sausage appetizers are quick to make in case of unexpected guests but tasty enough to serve at a party. They're not messy and can be transported easily, making them perfect for a potluck.

From Quick Guide: Create an Appetizer
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups stone-ground mustard, separated
  • 4 medium-sized flour tortillas
  • 20-25 bite-sized, precooked sausages
  • Cookie sheet
  • Aluminum foil (optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray (optional)
  • 1 tbs. honey
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

Take 1 cup of your mustard and spread it on the tortillas. You can use a butter knife or a spoon, but a rubber spatula or frosting knife is easiest.

  3. Step 3

Cut your tortillas into 4 or 5 strips. You can make your strips any size, but making them the size of, or slightly smaller than, your sausages allows people to see what they're eating.

  4. Step 4

Roll a sausage up in one of the strips, so that it resembles a pigs-in-a-blanket style appetizer.

  5. Step 5

Repeat step 4 for remaining sausages.

  6. Step 6

Arrange appetizers in rows on the cookie sheet. You can use foil or nonstick cooking spray if you desire, but in my experience they seldom stick.

  7. Step 7

Bake for 5-8 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden on top.

  8. Step 8

Mix remaining mustard with honey in a small bowl to create a dipping sauce.

  9. Step 9

Serve warm or room temperature with dipping sauce.

Tips & Warnings
  • The appetizers are best warm or room temperature, but they're delicious cold, too.
  • If you don't like stone-ground mustard, you can use brown or yellow mustard as well.
  • If you use hot mustard, be sure to warn your guests.
