How to Make a Quick and Easy One Pot Chili

I know, there are plenty of chili recipes from all over the world. This one is different. It's mine and it's awfully tasty. Here's how you can have some of this yummy chili. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef (or any ground meat of your preference)
  • 1 small can diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 3 tbs. chili powder
  • 2 tbs. ground cumin
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 can beans

Instructions

    • 1

      Add oil to a large pot. Sauté onion and garlic lightly, then add ground beef and cook until brown.

      Drain any excess fat and return the onion, meat and garlic to the pot.

      Add tomatoes, tomato paste and all the spices.

      Stir well and let simmer for at least an hour.

      Add the can of beans of your choosing and let sit another 30 minutes before serving.

      Eat and enjoy! Or, if preferred, store in the refrigerator overnight and reheat for an even better taste.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can always add more spices, but it's really, really hard to try and take the spice out of a dish (especially if you try it by hand).
