When looking for an ingenious way to create a unique bed frame, why search only from store front to store front? You may find what you really need behind the store.
Measure your mattress. Using the measuring tape, measure the width and length of your mattress. You will need these measurements to ensure that the frame is larger than the mattress.
Step2
Measure your milk crates. Measure each of your milk crates and record these numbers as well. With the milk crate measurements and mattress measurements in hand, you are ready to assemble.
Step3
Lay out the pattern. After you have gathered both sets of measurements, lay out enough milk crates to measure slightly larger than the mattress set. If you are trying for a platform effect, lay out enough crates to measure slightly smaller than the mattress.
Step4
Strap the milk crates together. After you have laid out all of the milk crates, zip tie all of the creates together. This completes the milk crate bed frame. Enjoy!
Tips & Warnings
Attaching all sides with the zip ties will give strength to the construction.

1 question. how much do the crates cost(on average)?
The reason why I ask, is because none of the stores around here(NW Indiana) SELL milk crates & I have never heard of Yaffa crates.
So in order to get milk crates around here, you'd have to steal them & that is against the Law.
Other than that, it's a good article. well explained, very detailed, something that a person who has spent his/her life in a bubble could follow.
