Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups honey
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice

Heat the butter and oil in a large sauce pan.

Pour the milk and sugar in a separate saucepan. Heat the milk and sugar mixture until steamy.

Add the milk and sugar mixture to the butter and oil. Turn the heat to low.

Stir in the flour, slowly, Continue stirring for a few minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat. Cool the mixture for two minutes, or until slightly cooled.

Beat the eggs and the orange rind together in a bowl.

Add the cinnamon, cognac and baking soda.

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.

Shape a teaspoon of the dough into an oblong cookie and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Continue forming the cookies until you have used all the dough.

Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Completely cool the cookies after baking.

Mix together the honey, sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan. Over medium heat, bring the mixture slowly to a boil.

After the mixture has reached a boil, turn down the heat and simmer for ten minutes.

Dip each cooled cookie into the hot syrup. Do not oversoak the cookie or it will become soggy.

Place each dipped cookie on a cooling rack to drain.

After draining, roll each cookie in the chopped walnuts.
