Las Vegas offers several beautiful, challenging courses for all budget and skill levels. Golfing is a great way to spend afternoons with buddies before hitting the night life or relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. Here's how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose which courses you would like to play. If you're on a budget, try Palm Valley Golf Course. High rollers will love Bali Hai Golf Club. For those somewhere in the middle, Desert Pines Golf Club or Arroyo At Red Rock might be just what you're looking for. Angel Park is considered one of the best golfing complexes in the country and offers several course options.

  2. Step 2

Book your tee time well ahead of your vacation to get the best selection.

  3. Step 3

Decide whether you want to take your golf clubs with you. If you want to bring them along, pack them in a sturdy travel bag to prevent damage and attach an identification tag with your name, address and telephone number just in case your clubs get lost in transit.

  4. Step 4

Rent clubs if you decide packing yours is too much of a hassle. There are several companies that will deliver a set of cutting edge clubs to your hotel.

  5. Step 5

Rent a car to make it easier for you and your playing partners to get to the courses. Of course, if you're a high roller, the casino might offer you a free limo ride.

  6. Step 6

Seek professional help if you just don't have the time to plan it yourself. Many companies offer golf packages that include tee times, greens fees, club rentals, hotel rooms and even transportation.

  7. Step 7

Ask the concierge desk to assist you in making plans if you need to change your plans or if you're in Las Vegas before you decide to go golfing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Golfing during the off-season or during the week can be cheaper than golfing on a busy weekend.
  • Golfing is a great way to get fun exercise while on vacation. If you work out too hard on the course, check out your hotel's spa.
  • Golfing can be a fun family activity in Las Vegas.
  • A round or two of golf is a great addition to a bachelor party weekend in Las Vegas.
  • Because of the altitude and intense sun, heat stroke is possible. Drink plenty of water before and during your time on the golf course.

on 9/4/2008 Ghost is right. VIPgolfservices.com has a bunch of local guys that actually golf the courses they sell. They are really cool and fun to work with. THey take care of anything from when I come out by myself to a big golf event. They also offer their own discounted rental clubs delivered to your hotel. They do it all.

on 7/30/2008 I would call a golf broker like VIPGolfServices.com. These guys know it all. Let alone do they have all of the local knowledge you could ask for when it comes to Las Veges Golf, they can get you discounts. Also if you are looking to rent clubs these guys will drop them off at your hotel as well. They are all over it. You can book online or just give them a call. Really nice guys always ready to help you out. They offer basically every course in the city ranging from $50 to $500 per person. Tell them Edward Howie sent you over.
