How to fix a grease or oil spot on cloth

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dawn dishwashing liguid
  • Grease or oil spotted cloth
  • Warm water
  • Sink or Washing Machine
  1. Step 1

If you get grease (bacon, etc) or oil on cloth (shirt, etc) - immediately rub the spot with Dawn dish washing liquid.

  2. Step 2

Wash the cloth as usual. In the sink or in the washing machine with warm water.

  3. Step 3

Let the cloth dry in the air and the spot should be gone.

Tips & Warnings
  • WD-40 or other lubricants like that will also take other stains (like food coloring and ink) out of cloth. Make sure you spray in a open area or everything will smell like lubricant.
  • Do not put the stained cloth in the dryer until you know for sure that the spot will not reappear when the cloth is dry. Drying a spot will usually set it forever.
