Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Self
- Phone
- Knowledge
- Money order
- Stamp
- Envelope
Step1
The very first thing you want to do is contact the clerk of courts in the city you were divorced in, or was ordered to pay child support in. You can do this by calling information and giving the city and state and then asking for the number to the court house.
Step2
When you make your call to the clerk of courts let them know you want to start paying child support, but you don't have all the information you need to properly submit payment. Ask for your support order case number, and the address that you will be mailing the payment too.
Step3
Once you have retrieved the pertinent information you need to purchase a money order. On the money order you need to write your case number. In a letter write the case number for the child support order and the name of the child it is for. Also list the name of the mother of the child.
Step4
Place the money order in the addressed envelope with the letter and mail to the address you retrieved from the clerk of courts. You can also make arrangements for back child support with the clerk of courts.
