How to Cook a Turkey in a Paper Bag

There are many ways to prepare a turkey. This method will result in a delicious dish. Read on to learn how to cook a turkey in a paper bag.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One turkey (18 to 20 lbs.)
  • One paper grocery bag
  • Stuffing.
  • Margarine
  • Small rack to fit inside of paper bag
  • Pan, large enough to fit everything
  • Salt and pepper
  • Stapler or paper clips
  1. Step 1

    Cut off the handles of paper bag and place it into the pan, seam side up.

  2. Step 2

    Place small rack into bag.

  3. Step 3

    Rub turkey completely with the margarine. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Place turkey on the rack in the bag. Stuff the turkey.

  4. Step 4

    Fold the edge of the bag into two or three half-inch folds. Secure with staples or paper clips one inch apart.

  5. Step 5

    Roast at 325 degrees for an appropriate amount of time.

Tips & Warnings
  • You do have to baste the turkey with method.
  • The turkey will turn golden brown. No need to open bag during the last minutes of roasting.
  • Make sure the edges of the bag do not overlap the pan, tuck them into pan.
