Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Add it to salads. Blue cheese goes great in salads, especially winter salads. The pungent taste of the blue cheese mingles well with fruits like apples or dried cranberries. Almonds and walnuts are other good salad accompaniments for blue cheese.
Step2
Make a sauce. Steaks go great with a blue cheese sauce--and you can use this blue cheese sauce recipe on top of chicken or other meats as well. To make a simple blue cheese sauce, just combine 6 oz. of quality blue cheese crumbles, 2 cloves of garlic, and 1 ½ tbsp. of white wine in a sauce pan. Heat on low heat until the cheese melts and then add a dash of pepper. You can add a little more wine or some heavy cream if you want to thin the sauce out. This makes a great sauce.
Step3
Make a dip. Chips, bread or veggies taste great alongside a yummy blue cheese dip. Because blue cheese is so fragrant, you don’t need to add a lot of ingredients to it to make it flavorful. For a super easy blue cheese dip, combine 4 oz. cream cheese and 1 cup sour cream in a bowl and mix until blended. Mix in 4 oz. of good quality blue cheese crumbles, 2 tbsp. chopped fresh chives and a dash of black pepper. This dip tastes best after it’s chilled for a few hours.
Step4
Mix it in hamburger. Blue cheese burgers are the best. You can make your blue cheese burgers several ways. After making your hamburger patties you can make an indent with your thumb in the hamburger meat, add a slab of blue cheese and then cover with more hamburger meat. Another great way is to add blue cheese crumbles into your meat mixture before you make the patties. Blue cheese tastes great melted on top of burgers, too.
