Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glossy paper (card stock that is glossy on one side)
  • Stamps (any shape or size)
  • Ink pads
  • White crayon (high quality crayons)
  • Sponge (must be dry and clean)
  1. Step 1

Random stamp your image of choice on the glossy paper. Random stamping is done by stamping your images in a triangle shape all over your paper. By doing a triangle you can evenly space the stamped images on your paper.

  2. Step 2

Trace around the stamped images with the white crayon exaggerating the outline.

  3. Step 3

Take a clean sponge and dab it onto an ink pad. In a circular motion start swirling the sponge on the glossy paper over your image to add some color. Use multiple colors to create a marble effect.

  4. Step 4

The white crayon will resist the ink from the sponge and show up as a shadow effect for your image.

  5. Step 5

You can use the crayon resist technique to craft a unique background for your scrapbook layout or make creative die-cut images to embellish your pages.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your glossy paper is acid-free, lignin-free and memory safe.
  • Use a high quality craft sponge so you don't have to worry about it falling apart or not working correctly.
  • Stamp your images completely. Partial or faded images don't look as good.
  • Crayon resist can enhance the overall look of your pages and offers variety to your layouts.
