Things You'll Need:
- Correct color of mascara (match you skin tone)
- Lash comb
- Patience
- Mirror
-
Step 1
Choose the right color of mascara to accent your skin tone. Basic black is not right for everyone. Light skin tones should use brown or brown/black.
-
Step 2
Use fresh mascara and avoid old tubes of mascara that may be dried out and clumpy. Mascara should be replaced at least every three months.
-
Step 3
Stand in front of a mirror at a close distance or use a hand mirror when applying your mascara in order to see up close what your lashes are doing.
-
Step 4
Apply slowly and wiggle the brush back and forth while gently pulling the lashes in order to coat every lash and prevent them from sticking together. This approach will also help you achieve thickness and length.
