Step 1
Have an open mind. Remember that just because something is different doesn’t make it weird or silly. Think of dating a Seventh Day Adventist as a learning experience. Soak up all you can and try to see the benefits of the lifestyle.
-
Step 2
Read the 28 Fundamentals of Seventh Day Adventists. Your potential significant other will be impressed that you took the time to learn about their beliefs, culture and practices. You’ll save yourself a trip to Tiffany’s or embarrassment by offering them a ham sandwich: they don’t wear jewelry or eat pork. The sabbath is celebrated from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. Most families start off with Friday night worship. On Saturday, they are off to church for sabbath school, divine hour, and adventist youth services.
-
Step 3
Attend Seventh Day Adventist activities. When in Rome do what the Romans do and the same principle applies to dating a Seventh Day Adventist. There are a lot of banquets, gospel concerts and camping trips. You’ll be amazed at their Pathfinders organization, which is best described as a co-ed boy/girl scout program. Their drum corp and fancy foot work competition will dazzle you. The singles ministries department plans great getaway vacations and day trips.
-
Step 4
Avoid using pressure tactics. The lifestyle of a Seventh Day Adventist is usually a surprise to many, especially if you aren’t religious. Respect their faith and don’t try to persuade them to do something that goes against it.
-
Step 5
Picture yourself as a Seventh Day Adventist. Do you like being with your significant other and the lifestyle that they live? Some Seventh Day Adventists won’t marry you if you aren’t one. However, only think about conversion if you truly enjoy the lifestyle, not just to keep your significant other. Talk to a pastor if you have questions.

on 11/15/2009 While lifestyle is certainly part of an Adventist's life, I suggest only joining the church if you study and accept the beliefs, not just because Adventists have a healthy fun lifestyle. I encourage everyone to check out what Adventist's believe if only for your own education.
Thanks for a great article :)
