How to Use the Color Orange in Color Therapy

  1. Step 1

The color orange is beneficial in many ways. It can be used as an antispasmodic, a respiratory stimulant, thyroid energizer, and an agent that helps promote milk production after giving birth (galactagogue). It also relieves flatulence or distention of the stomach due to gas.

  2. Step 2

You can include orange foods in the diet. Carrots, oranges, peaches, pumpkins, and apricots are all good examples. Remember to buy fresh produce, if possible, and to wash them thoroughly before preparing them.

  3. Step 3

You can infuse color into the water you drink. Fill a bottle with spring or distilled water. Take an orange filter (see next step)and wrap it around the bottle. Place the bottle of water in a window. It doesn't have to be in direct sunlight. Allow the bottle to sit in the window for at least an hour, three hours if it's cloudy outside. After the proper amount of time, remove the filter and place the bottle in the fridge. Drink six to eight ounces, two or three times a day or whenever you feel you need the benefits of orange.

  4. Step 4

Color filters can be found in photography shops and even some specialty shops. Large sheets of colored cello-wrap cal also be used. You can use the colors singly or combine one or two.

  5. Step 5

You can also wear the color orange in clothing or in jewelry. Amber and citrine are good choices.

Tips & Warnings
  • Different shades of a color will offer different results. A lighter shade of orange will offer less intense results.
  • Do not substitute this or any other alternative therapy for conventional medicine.
