If you travel significantly for business, you are known as a road warrior. Given the current climate of airline travel, getting from one place to the next is an art form. Travel is unpredictable. Read on for a few guidelines you should follow to ensure as smooth an experience as possible for yourself and your fellow travelers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
If you’re traveling for business, it’s usually a two day trip. Pack light and a carry on. This will enable you to avoid baggage and ticketing areas. Also, you can move from flight to flight if you need to re-book without worrying about lost luggage.
Step2
Get an e-ticket. Book online and 24 hours before your scheduled departure, check-in. You will avoid the line at the ticket counters and go straight to the security check point.
Step3
Abide by the 3-1-1 rule; three oz., one beg, one customer. All liquids, including toothpaste and lip gloss should fit into one quartz size plastic bag. Buy travel-sized products.
Step4
Since this is business, you will have your laptop. Your laptop should be easily accessible as you will need to place it on the security x-ray machine. If you plan to work on the flight, organize your work so that it is easy to retrieve during the flight.
Step5
Your carry-on and briefcase are your two allowed items. Women, if you have a purse make sure it fits in your briefcase. Dress for comfort and avoid jewelry, belts, and change in your pocket.
Step6
Shoes hold up the line. When possible wear shoes that are easy to slip on and slip off.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you’re traveling and need to take over-sized equipment for presentations or conferences, ship it ahead.
  • Always consult the airline authority for any changes in rules and regulations.
