Whether there is a toddler around the house, or visiting children, making the house safe for the holidays is a number one priority. Read on to learn more.
Keep all hanging garland and decorations above three feet off the ground. This insures that no one gets entangled in the long ropes.
Step2
Make certain that the Christmas tree is smaller, and raised up high enough to keep children safe. A large, real tree is not safe enough, but a moderately tall tree on a dining table will allow everyone to enjoy the holiday.
Step3
Make certain that ornaments are hung deeper inside the branches then hanging right at the ends where little ones can easily reach. A little further in will still look lovely, and be much safer.
Step4
Some people take the tree and set it up inside a play pen. This can be helpful, but a tree of some size will not fit.
Step5
If a larger tree is called for, then lower ornaments should be raised higher. Garland should be higher also, and tinsel should not be used, as it is a severe choking hazard.
