We all love having fruit trees; but what should you do with all the excess? We feel wasteful leaving it to rot on the ground. Plus, giving it away is getting old. Here are some useful suggestions for using it up.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fruit
  • Lemonade mix
  • Cool whip
  • Pie shells, and pie recipes
  • Fruit Fresh
  • An ice cream freezer, milk, vanilla, and cream
  1. Step 1

For fruits such as pears, apples, peaches, and oranges--try pureeing them in your food processor and adding the puree to a lemonade mix for a delightful change of pace.

  2. Step 2

Mixing cut up fruit with sugar and Fruit Fresh and placing them in freezer containers, then freezing them will allow you to enjoy fruit year round.

  3. Step 3

Cut up fruit and mix with Cool Whip for a quick and easy fruit salad.

  4. Step 4

Use your juicer and juice the fruit for a healthful drink. Blend with ice cream and vanilla for a smoothie!

  5. Step 5

Add some sugar and spices. Place in a pie shell for a nice pie. There are many apple, peach, pear, and even plum pie recipes to be found on the Internet. Try Recipezaar for some suggestions.

  6. Step 6

Use your ice cream freezer to make ice cream out of peaches, apples, pears, or even oranges and lemons. There are also many recipes to be had for ice cream, or even low fat frozen yogurt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't leave cut up fruit in the refrigerator for long, or it will turn brown. Add a little lemon juice to it if you have to leave it out.
  • Be sure to pick through home grown fruit for worms and other insects.
