How to make the flowers you just recieved last longer...

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Take a vase and fill it about two inches or so from the top with "Room Temperature Water."

  2. Step 2

Depending on what you use either Aspirin or 7-Up...
If using Aspirin, crush up 2 tablets and stir them into the water.
If you are using 7-Up add 2-3 Tablespoons and stir into the water.
ONLY USE ONE OR THE OTHER.

  3. Step 3

Then place the vase near the skin where you'll be working.

  4. Step 4

Take your flowers and remove any leaves or thorns that are low enough to end up in the water once placed in the vase. Leaves and thorns will rot so try to keep just the stems in the water.

  5. Step 5

Next under running room temperature water take your scissors and cut one stem at a time at a 45 degree angle. Then quickly place it in the vase of water. After only 15 seconds some flowers veins will actually seal up at the bottom. That is why cutting them before placing them in water is important!

  6. Step 6

And finally changing the water and re-cutting the stems about every 3 days will also pro-long their life.
