Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A yoga practice
  1. Step 1

Do yoga asanas. The physical practice of yoga keeps the body healthy and in good working order by overhauling the entire system. The muscles, glands and internal orgns are affected by the practice. You are more likely to be positive if you are healthy.

  2. Step 2

Learn how to breathe. Most of us breath in a fast, shallow manner due to stress, tight clothing and habit. We need to learn how to use the whole breathing apparatus, just like babies do naturally. Breathing properly keeps the mind calm, reduces stress and increases our oxygen intake, which in turn, gives us more energy. With more energy, you are less likely to fall into negativity.

  3. Step 3

Relax. Sometimes we are negative just because of stress. We do not have enough energy or mental clarity to deal with stressful situations. Learn to relax on the physical, mental and spiritual levels in order to maintain a positive outlook.

  4. Step 4

Get a better diet. You must eat right to be positive. What you eat affects your mind. Food that is stale, overcooked, canned, microwaved, processed, etc. creates aggression, anger and depression. Following a natural, vegetarian diet can lead to a more peaceful nature.

  5. Step 5

Meditate. Learn how to observe and analyze your thoughts. By stepping out of the non-stop chatter of the mind, you gain clarity and control. Meditation is the best and most powerful way to positivity - the thoughts are transcended.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take courses in yoga philosophy, especially positive thinking.
  • Learn the proper techniques from a certified yoga instructor.
  • Make sure you have clearance from your doctor prior to starting a yoga practice and making changes to your diet.
