How to Make Ginger Wasabi Garlic Sauce

Do you like sushi, egg rolls, steak, fish, chicken, dim sum, lumpia, fried shrimp? Try any of them with this Ginger Wasabi Garlic Sauce. It is a great condiment for a thousand dishes..

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 oz Soy Sauce
  • 2 oz dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • a one inch chunk of fresh ginger
  • a teaspoon of wasabi paste
  • a clove of garlic
  • a small bowl
  • a knife
  • a cutting board

    Put the Soy Sauce in the little bowl

    add the sherry to the bowl

  3. 3

    * Add the sesame oil to the bowl

  4. 4

    stir the wasabi paste into the soy sauce, sherry and sesame oil in the bowl

  5. 5

    taste the mixture. Add more wasabi if desired

  6. 6

    * carefully trim the peel off the ginger

  7. 7

    finely mince the ginger and add it to the bowl

  8. 8

    peel the paper skin off the garlic and smash the clove

  9. 9

    finely mince the garlic and add it to the bowl

  10. 10

    Mix well.

    place in an airtight container and refrigerate over night.

    Use as a dipping sauce.

Tips & Warnings

  • Feel free to adjust the amounts to suit your taste.
  • Some folks like a few dried pepper flakes for a little more heat
  • you may add some toasted sesame seeds for a little crunch
  • pickled ginger makes a nice counterpoint
  • add a little lime juice if you feel it needs more acid
  • Wasabi is an extremely strong condiment, so go slowly until you know how much you like.
  • make sure you use cocktail or dry sherry as sweet or cream sherry is much too sweet.
