How to View Subtitle Files in a DivX Movie
If you have downloaded a foreign DivX movie and it contains a subtitle file, you will need to install the DivX codec and a third-party software application to view the subtitles in playback. VobSub is a free software utility intended for this purpose. Once VobSub and the DivX codec are installed on your computer, viewing subtitle files is a breeze and requires only a few mouse clicks.

Download and install the current version of VobSub from AfterDawn.com.

Download and install the DivX codec from DivX.com.

Navigate to the folder containing the DivX movie with the subtitle file that you want to view. Make sure that the name of the subtitle file exactly matches the name of the movie. This is crucial so that VobSub can identify the proper subtitle file for playback.

Open up the movie file in Windows Media Player or your preferred DivX movie player. You should now be able to view subtitles with your movies.

Tips & Warnings
Your subtitle file should be in SRT format. Otherwise, you must convert the file to this format.
If your subtitle file does not display properly, open it up with Notepad and make sure it is in the language you desire.
