Hosting a dinner party with your date can serve two purposes--it gives you the opportunity to be with your family and friends while spending time with your date. Even if you and your date don't have gourmet cooking ability, you can put on a dinner party everyone will enjoy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ingredients to prepare the food on your menu
  • plates, glasses, napkins, flatware
  • beverages of your choice
  • party favors and place cards, if you want to be fancy
  1. Step 1

Set a date for your dinner party.

  2. Step 2

Decide on the guest list. Plan to keep your dinner party small so you'll spend more time with your date and less time making sure you've schmoozed with everyone else.

  3. Step 3

Pick out the menu. Unless you are both culinary geniuses, keep it simple. An appetizer, salad, main dish and dessert are all you need.

  4. Step 4

Write out your grocery list together.

  5. Step 5

Go grocery shopping together to purchase items for the meal.

  6. Step 6

Prepare the food and set the table on the day of the party, a couple hours before your guests arrive. Take turns making the dishes. For example, if you make the appetizer, let him make the salad.

  7. Step 7

Set the table together. Put out party favors and/or place cards, if you and your date have planned to use those at your dinner party.

  8. Step 8

After the party, share the clean-up duties.

  9. Step 9

Once the clean-up is done, relax with your date and glass of wine or a cup of coffee. Enjoy the quiet time together, and celebrate the success of your party.
