Step 1
Do your in laws like to cook? Visit some specialty stores to pick up fun, unexpected gadgets like a frother and a French Press. Add to these a couple of pretty mugs and order some Italian coffee online. Wrap these all up in a basket and voila! An excellent, tasteful, tasty, International gift.
-
Step 2
If your in laws are intellectuals, consider buying them a subscription to a great, established magazine like The New Yorker or The Atlantic Monthly. If they already have subscriptions to every magazine in the world and they listen to National Public Radio, consider making a donation on their behalf.
-
Step 3
Are your in laws do gooders? Consider donating to a charity organization that they would approve of. There are about a million charities out there, from those closer to home, such as educational programs for children in your city, to International ones that make donations to countries around the world whose communities are in need of assistance. Print out information about the charity and wrap it up so that a) your in laws have something to unwrap on Christmas morning and b) they can feel good about educating themselves on the organization.

Step 4
Foodies? Book your in laws a reservation at a wine tasting in your city. Not only will they have a chance to experience wonderful wines from around the world; but they'll also get to interact with other people who have similar interests. It will be a memorable gift experience.
