Irish Whiskey Cake is a holiday treat that isn't only reserved for St. Patrick's Day. You'll find it on many British dessert tables over Christmas and New Year's, and it's a great treat for afternoon tea as well! If you need to make something quick for last-minute guests, Irish Whiskey Cake is sure to please the crowds. Read on to learn how to make Irish Whiskey Cake using just a few basic ingredients.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup fresh butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Irish whiskey

    The Cake

  1. Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

    Mix the cake mix and pudding mix in medium bowl until combined.

  3. Step 3

    Add eggs one at a time.

  4. Step 4

    Mix the batter. Add oil, milk and whiskey to the mixture and blend on medium speed with electric mixer until well-combined.

  5. Step 5

    Stir in the fruit. Add the walnuts and golden raisins until combined.

  6. Step 6

    Prepare the pan. Butter the Bundt pan; then pour the cake batter into pan.

  7. Step 7

    Bake for 50 minutes until cake is cooked through and turns a light brown color.

    Remove from oven, and let cool at least 20 minutes in pan. Turn onto platter.

    Poke holes on top of cake using a fork. Set aside and prepare syrup topping.

  10. The Syrup Topping

    Melt the butter in small saucepan.

    Add sugar to dissolve. Stir in the sugar until it dissolves and turns into syrup.

  13. Step 3

    Add the whiskey. Pour in the Irish whiskey, and combine thoroughly.

  14. Step 4

    Finish the cake. Pour 1/2 the syrup over the entire cake; then let it set for 20 minutes.

  15. Step 5

    Brush the cake with remaining syrup before serving.

  16. Step 6

    Slice the cake into wedges, serve and enjoy!
