Violence is all around us. It is in the books we read and in the TV we watch--everywhere. What many of us don't realize is that the violence we ingest consciously or subconsciously is bad for us, just like eating too much junk food. A healthy mind abhors violence; it doesn't like to see or read about it. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make an index card that says, "Close the window on violence," and hang it somewhere near the television.
Step2
Start paying attention to the shows and movies you watch, the books you read, even the music you listen. Is it something you would allow a child to see or hear? Why or why not?
Step3
If you answered no to the question above, explore what is it that attracts you. A lot of times violence in an unconscious choice. Make a commitment to stop listening and watching violence.
Step4
Share the commitment with a friend who will support you in your endeavors.
