How to obtain and install free anti virus for windows

Is your pc protected against virus attacks? Did it come installed for free and now you have to pay for protection? I will show you how to protect your computer for free.

Things You’ll Need:

• PC with internet access

1. If you have a previous installation of an anti virus on your computer you will first need to uninstall it. Go to your control, panel/add remove programs, find your old anti virus program and uninstall it.
2. Go to http://www.clamwin.com/ and click on the download link. This will take you to the next page where you can select the download button which will send you this file:
   http://downloads.sourceforge.net/clamwin/clamwin-0.91.2-setup.exe
3. Save the file to your desktop or somewhere else you can easily find it.
4. Double-click the setup file and follow installation instructions. Make sure you perform the update process after the program is installed.

Tips & Warnings

• Always back up your important files somewhere else, web storage has never been easier to do, but many forget to do this and it will cost you important data such as records or pictures.
• If you install anti virus after you think your computer contracted something bad, it might be too late. Prevention is the cure for computer virus attacks.
