How to Become the Perfect Coworker
In today's business world, co-workers often find themselves competing against each other for higher positions, bigger salaries and corner offices. In an attempt to stay one step ahead of everyone else, many fail to realize that they are causing undue stress on their fellow employees. There's nothing wrong with trying to get ahead, but if you want to be the "perfect" co-worker, be considerate of those working around you.

1
Be on time. Co-workers who arrive late are often despised because the other employees have to pick up the slack while they are out. Arriving on time (or a bit early) shows that you respect other people's time and that you are willing to pull your own weight.
-
2
Don't gossip. Gossiping is unprofessional and only ignites hostility amongst your co-workers. By refraining from gossiping, you will also show your boss that you are ready for a promotion, since you're not causing drama or getting tangled up in other people's personal affairs.

3
Be considerate of others. It is okay to listen to music in your cubicle, but keep it at a very low volume so you don't irritate your neighbors. Keep your phone conversations muted as well.
-
4
Give credit where credit is due. Acknowledging a co-worker for a job well done is a great way to show that you are a team player. Always refrain from taking credit for other people's work; doing this is a surefire way to turn your co-workers against you.
-
5
Be kind to everyone. There's usually someone in every department that no one can stand, but kindness can go a long way. You don't have to be friends with every co-worker, but you can help create a friendly work environment by refusing to slander the person. Be professionally courteous at all times.
