Things You'll Need:
- A monthly wall calendar
- Colorful pens or markers
- Daily intention
-
Step 1
Pick a calendar that suits your personality. Place the calendar in a prominent place (I use my refrigerator) so you are reminded each morning to write a beatitude.
-
Step 2
Choose on or two words each morning that suit your mood, intention or gratitude. You are creating an intention in advance, so the word does not necessarily have to represent a past item but can be something you desire in the future. These words can represent "things" (home, dinner with friends, nature, family) or a state of mind (peace, happiness, strength).
-
Step 3
Resolve to write something daily. It's easy to forget or procrastinate, but consistency is important. After a month, read over your past posts and recognize and acknowledge the joys you've experienced throughout the month.
-
Step 4
Believe in the power of intention. Showing gratitude and appreciation for all life has to offer is rewarding. Writing an intention for the day, stating something for which you are grateful, sets the mood for your day and gives it purpose. Author Sarah Ban Breathnach has said, "The more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you." And it's true.
