Squeegee not working on your glass shower doors? This is the simplest and most effective way to clean them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dishwasher soap, liquid, gel, or crystals, doesn't matter.
  • Steel wool, fine grit
  • Rubber gloves
  1. Step 1

Mix about a teaspoon of the dishwasher soap with about a cup of hot water. Make sure you wear rubber gloves, because the texture of the stuff is gross.

  2. Step 2

Dip the steel wool in the mixture and start at an upper corner of the shower door. No, the steel wool will not scratch the doors, amazingly. The dishwasher liquid breaks down the hard-water spots and the steel wool will remove any grime. You might need more than one steel wool pad.

  3. Step 3

Rinse the doors with clean water and you're done!

on 6/5/2009 This works great as long as your shower doors are glass but beware of using the steel wool on the fiberglass doors.

on 5/17/2008 Super easy. I would have never been brave enough to use the steel wool on my glass shower doors until I read this article. Thanks. They look beautiful. I actually used a mixture of dish soap and white distilled vinegar and then rinsed them off with hot water. Stunning results. They look new again!
