How to Make a Palmer Cocktail

A lost classic which will please any fan of bourbon, the Palmer is a delicious cocktail which deserves to be embraced by a larger audience than it currently enjoys. Simple and classic, this is a drink for adult drinkers with adult tastes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • Dash bitters
  • Lemon wedge
  • Small highball glass (8 oz.)
  • Ice
  1. Step 1

    Add ice to your highball glass, along with the following:

    2 ounces bourbon

  3. Step 3

    Single dash of bitters

  4. Step 4

    The juice from your lemon wedge

  5. Step 5

    Stir this well, drop in your wrung lemon wedge and drink.

Tips & Warnings
  • Because this drink is predominantly bourbon without excessive mixer action, you really should spring for a nicer bourbon (think in the Maker's Mark range).
  • Drink the Palmer with caution!
