How to Make a Snow Angel in Winter

Making a snow angel takes thought planning and deep snow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snow
  • Warm Clothes
  • Camera
  1. Step 1

    Check your supplies

    Snow
    mittens
    snow boots
    shovel
    warm clothing
    Camera

  2. Step 2

    Pick a deep flat area of snow.

  3. Step 3

    Position your body in the snow with your back to the flat and deep area.

  4. Step 4

    Fall back into the snow. The best result comes from jumping backward to get your footprints away from your creation. Watch your head! Keep the chin near your chest so you don't hit your head on the ground. The deep snow will break your fall. CAUTION: If the snow is not deep, squat down and fall back gently.

  5. Step 5

    Stretch your arms and legs out in a star shape across the snow.

  6. Step 6

    Glide your arms from head to side in a sweeping motion across the snow. Do the same with your legs. Spread your legs as far as you can and then bring them together allowing a gap between legs.

  7. Step 7

    Getting up: This is important. Pull your arms in over your chest and Roll Forward until your are squatting on your feet. stand up without touching the ground with your hands and jump as far as possible out of the Snow.

  8. Step 8

    If you make unwanted footprints in the snow you can shovel snow into them from a distance.

  9. Step 9

    You just made a Snow Angel!
