Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Light snacks or desserts
- Punch or juice
- Coffee
- Paper plates and cups
- Coffee mugs
- Plastic silverware
Step1
Take a tablecloth to put over a table in the gathering area for church. Have plates and napkins available and necessary silverware if needed.
Step2
Prepare a light snack for tarry and talk. Use snacks such as pretzels, crackers and dips, homemade treats, or anything else that is easy yet light.
Step3
Make some coffee for those who still need a little bit of waking up. Also have juice or other punches available for those who won't be drinking coffee.
Step4
Be sure there is a trashcan or somewhere to dispose of plates and cups after everybody is finished.
Step5
Leave out a signup sheet for those who can volunteer to host tarry and talk for the next Sunday of church.

on 2/28/2008 What a good way to build community relations, it's a really nice idea as a way to welcome new members. I'd never heard the phrase "tarry and talk" before!
