A sleek and shapely eyebrow doesn't necessitate a trip to the salon. You can tweeze your eyebrows at home with these simple tips.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sharp, sturdy pair of tweezers
  • Warm compress
  • White eyeliner pencil
  • Eyebrow stencil (optional)
  1. Step 1

Some find it handy to use an eyebrow stencil. You can find these at most drugstores. However, while they can provide a general guide to the shape of your brows, don't feel you need to adhere to the shape exactly. Do what works best for your face.

  2. Step 2

Take your pair of tweezers and turn it sideways so the pointy end is facing towards the ceiling. If you line the tweezers up with your pupil, the tweezers will point to the spot in your brow that should be the peak of your arch.

  3. Step 3

Pressing a warm compress on your eyebrows for a minute or so will open up your follicles and make tweezing less painful. Conversely, rubbing an ice cube quickly across your brow line can help.

  4. Step 4

If you need to, use a white eyeliner pencil to mark the shape you would like to achieve and follow this guide.

  5. Step 5

Except for very wild strays, you should NEVER tweeze the top of your brows. Only tweeze from the bottom up. Also, do not take too much from the inside of your brow. The inside edge of your brow should line up with the inside edge of your eye.

  6. Step 6

Respect the natural shape of your brow. Do not try to completely reconstruct. Instead, tame and tweeze the shape that exists.
