Nothing brings the appeal of an old-fashioned breakfast to our table better than real homemade cinnamon spread on toast. The recipe is easy and the taste is fantastically rich.

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 to 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • mixing bowl and egg beater

    How to Make Homemade Cinnamon Spread

  1. Step 1

    Pour all ingredients into one bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Whip mixture with an egg beater until fluffy.

  3. Step 3

    Sample to see if it’s sweet enough or spicy enough. You can add more sugar or spice to taste at this point. If you do add more ingredients, continue whipping with the egg beater for another minute.

  4. Step 4

    Spread on toasted bran bread or 100% whole-wheat bread.

  5. Step 5

    Store unused mixture in a covered container in the cupboard.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute butter with margarine. Both work well. The difference is in the taste.
