Step 1
Measure your bar's height. No matter what the bar stools look like, the thing that is most important is to have the bar stool at the right height. There's nothing worse than having a bar and its stools are way too short.
-
Step 2
Determine the length of your bar so you can decide how many stools would be ideal. You might want one or two more than would usually be comfortable at the bar just in case you have a large group to entertain.
-
Step 3
Decide on the bar stool options. You can choose padded or unpadded stools, stools that swivel or stools that are stationary, or stool with backs and arms or classic bar stools. Take the amount of use they'll get into account as you decide on options.
-
Step 4
Complement the bar's materials, as well as the decor of the room as a whole. For example, if you have a classic tiki bar, a hint of bamboo in the bar stools will create an even more tropical atmosphere.
-
Step 5
Know your budget. Bar stools range in price from inexpensive to very expensive. If you know how much you're willing to spend, that allows you to know how many bar stools you can buy for the money that you're willing to spend.
