Stepping out of the bathtub and onto a tile floor is not only uncomfortable, it's dangerous. Slips and falls occur. Having a bath mat to step on helps to dry your feet and prevents you from slipping across your bathroom floor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select your material. Bath mats come in a variety of different materials such as bamboo, cotton and terrycloth.

  2. Step 2

Evaluate your bathroom's color scheme to decide what color to get. You can match the color, or choose a complement. Coordinating your bath mat with your color scheme shows style and artistic flair.

  3. Step 3

Calculate the size you need. If you have a small bathroom that only has a shower stall, you wouldn't need to buy a large bath mat. On the other hand, if you have a large bathroom with plenty of space there's no need to scrimp on bath mat size.

  4. Step 4

Remember your housemates. If you have young children, you may not want to buy light-colored bath mats because they're bound to get dirty. On the other hand, if you're the only one that will be using the bath mat, your options are open.
