Tweezers for personal grooming and care come in a range of shapes for different purposes. If you're using them to do something with electronic equipment, more than likely you will need a plastic pair rather than a metal pair of tweezers.
2. Determine if you want the end of your tweezers to have a point or to be rounded. If you're going to use your tweezers to pull splinters from your children's hands, then you'll need a pointier tipped tweezers. Conversely, you could use rounded tipped tweezers to pull a tick of your dog.
3. Consider the tweezers' material. The most common material is stainless steel. However, some are made of plastic and other non-conductive materials. The plastic tweezers work well if you working on computer equipment. Metal ones are used for less delicate, more durable types of materials.
4. Think about purchasing a hemostat. Hemostats are surgical tweezers used by doctors. The handle of a hemostat resembles that of a scissor. The advantage of using a hemostat is that they have a locking capability. Once the hemostat is locked into position, it's difficult to pull the tweezers' nose apart.
5. Refer to your physical attributes. If you have very large hand, it may be difficult to work with a very small tweezers.
