Step 1
Measure your bathroom shower stall or bathtub. If you have an old-fashioned clawfoot bathtub, more than likely you'll need more than one set of shower curtains to go around the entire tub. However, if you have standard sized modern tub/shower, more than likely you can get away with buy one set of standardized shower curtains.
-
Step 2
Determine what material you would like before you shop. Some shower curtains are plastic and others are of a cloth material. The clear plastic shower curtains are cheaper but are difficult to wash. Those made out of cloth material require a shower lining to prevent the water from soaking through.
-
Step 3
Choose your color or theme. If you're matching your shower curtain to the rest of your bathroom, bring a swatch of fabric or a sample of paint that you've used in your bathroom decor to the store with you. A shower curtain can also be the first step of a whole new look for your bathroom.
-
Step 4
Know your budget. Shower curtains vary in price range. You can buy them as cheap as a couple of dollars to as expensive as several hundred dollars. Review your budget before you go into the store so you don't overspend.

Step 5
Remember to buy shower hooks. Nothing says style better than having shower hooks that match the decor of the shower curtains.
