Graduate school is your next step in education if you've completed your Bachelors Degree. Getting through the interview is only one part of the application process, but it is a very important part. You must present yourself as well in person as you do on paper.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Take the horror stories you hear with a grain of salt. Most graduate school interview horror stories that go around are embellished, and should not be taken too seriously.
Step2
Search for clues. Some graduate programs will post the standards for each interview. They may also list some of the questions you may be asked. This can help you feel comfortable in the interview, and it can help you handle anxiety about the process.
Step3
Learn about the program. No matter how many schools you have applied to, you must bone up on the program's statistics before you go in for an interview. The more informed you are about the program, the more intelligent your questions and responses will be.
Step4
Prepare for some of the questions that may be asked. Most graduate programs are looking for a specific type of student. Handle a graduate school interview by forming answers to questions like: who are you inspired by, who do you turn to in troubling times, what motivates you and how socially conscientious are you.
Step5
Dress for success. Always dress professionally, and present yourself in the best light. Don't wear too much makeup, cologne or jewelry.
Step6
Answer each question fully. In a graduate school interview, you must be able to talk clearly and adequately about your skills, interpersonal interactions and value system.
