On your last day of high school, you know that when you leave, you aren't coming back. Whether you go to college, enter the military or get a job, you won't see the same set of people on a daily basis. You have the summer to say goodbye to your friends, but graduation may be the last chance you have to say goodbye to your high school teachers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Say thank you. Teachers often become mentors to high school students. They spend extra time talking with you, give you advice and generally help you get good grades. When you say thank you, they know you valued their time and effort.
Step2
Give a sign of affection. Depending on the bond you had with a particular high school teacher, you can buy a gift. This could be for the classroom or for their home. Physical signs of affection, like waving, shaking hands or hugging goodbye, may be appropriate.
Step3
Send a card. Often we can say things in writing that we can't say face to face. Writing allows you time to process your thoughts and find the words to convey them. You can mail the card or leave it on your teacher's desk at school.
Step4
Plan an event to honor a teacher. Several students may want to plan an evening with each other and select high school teachers. Plan the event based on an activity or sport that you were all involved in. Some ideas include a graduation party, a dinner or a potluck. When your together share memories and stories you recall from high school.
Step5
Let your actions say goodbye. You aren't going to like all of your high school teachers. You can finally ignore the annoying ones. Your body language can show the finality of graduation.
