Make sure the product you purchase contains titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or avobenzone, and apply the sunscreen in the morning and at mid-day.
2. Look for lightweight lotion or creme sunscreens that are oil-free and water based. These products will not aggravate the oily T-zone, and will not over-dry your face. These products are often milk-based and high in lactic acid which can help moisturize and balance the pH of your skin. For an added oil-free moisturizer, there are a number of sunscreens that include aloe vera, the perfect product for combination skin.
3. Clear up blemishes while blocking the sun, and choose a sunscreen that includes benzoyl peroxide. Many people who are blessed with combination skin find that sunscreen causes break-outs in oily areas. Products that contain benzoyl peroxide can help to balance combination skin while blocking harmful UV rays.
4. Select a gel based sunscreen instead of the typical lotions or creams. Gel sunscreens absorb quickly into the skin and do not contain heavy oils or drying agents that may aggravate combination skin. While gel sunscreens are often more expensive than the traditional varieties, they are worth the extra dollars for clean, clear and balanced skin.
