You need to not only integrate macrobiotics into your daily routine, but also locate suitable food and exercise programs to get the most out of this health choice. Follow some steps to follow and enjoy the benefits of a macrobiotic lifestyle.

  1. Step 1

    Learn how to eat a macrobiotic diet properly. Read literature on the purpose of macrobiotics before attempting the diet.

  2. Step 2

    Assess whether a macrobiotic diet is feasible for your lifestyle and budget. Know that a macrobiotic diet consist mainly of carbohydrates, proteins, fats/oils, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and water.

  3. Step 3

    Locate a good market in your area that caters to healthy dieters and fresh food sources. Make a list of your meals before beginning each week and a shopping list for those meals.

  4. Step 4

    Learn the basic foods in each category of essential foods of the macrobiotic diet and build a diet that supports your tastes, budget and time restraints. Buy all organic items, and to fully benefit from macrobiotics, only drink distilled water.

  5. Step 5

    Be careful not to eat any fast food or highly concentrated preservatives as it will not help you to enjoy the benefits of macrobiotics. Plan your meals away from home at a place where you can eat macrobiotic safe foods and not stray from your diet.
