A tissue paper corsage makes a great Mother's Day gift, a lasting wedding memory or simply a fun alternative to the average corsage. You can mix and match tissue paper colors, decorate with ribbon, glitter and lace or add other personal touches to create a unique corsage to match any outfit or event.
Layer the two pieces of tissue paper so that the edges are aligned. Fold the sheets in half lengthwise and carefully cut along the creased line. You should now have four layered pieces of tissue paper measuring 10-by-20 inches.
2
Fold the layered tissue paper into a fan along the length of they sheets. Make the folds one inch deep, keeping the folds and edges as even as possible. When complete you should have 20 folds.
3
Bend a piece of florist's wire in half and slide the crease of the wire over the center of the tissue paper fan. Twist the wire tightly enough to hold the tissue paper, but not so tight that it crumples the paper. Cut the wire to the desired finished length and continue the twist until the end of the wire.
4
Cover the wire with green florist's tape. If desired, you can dip the stem in glue and sprinkle with glitter for a sparkling corsage. You might also add ribbons, baby's breath or artificial leaves at this point.
5
Cut both ends of the tissue paper fan in a "C" shape to create the rounded tips of your tissue paper flower petals. 'Fluff' the corsage by carefully pulling up each layer of tissue paper one at a time towards the center of the flower.
6
Paste a small scrap of tissue paper or ribbon over the wire to create the center of your tissue paper flower corsage.
7
Use a large pearl-ended corsage pin to attach the corsage to your lapel. The pin can be placed through the florist's tape and will securely hold your corsage.
Tips & Warnings
